Kay Bojesen did the design, you chose the colours. With her atmospheric dark grey beak in beautiful harmony with the characteristic songbird head in a warm light grey, the discreet creamy yellow plumage on the body, and legs in a deep dark green, Bella exudes a very special calm and subtle panna cotta-like elegance that simultaneously brings forth a delicate and robust classic elegance – an icon in Danish design that will fit perfectly anywhere in the home. Bella is produced in a limited edition and engraved with the year.
The Year Bird 2025 measures 12.5 cm in height and is slightly smaller than the classic songbird, but just as charming – ready to fly onto the shelf and become part of the collection. And like the other Kay Bojesen songbirds, it is made from FSC certified beechwood, which guarantees that the trees used in production are planted, cultivated, and felled responsibly. Naturally, the Year Bird 2025 is finished and painted with great precision and skill, just like all Kay Bojesen’s other figurines. Unique to the year birds, however, is that each has its own year engraved on the tail feather, and this also applies to this year’s splendid example, Bella.
